Eagles Angels News
Our Layne going from Gidget to Ginger and Back Again.
| 7/8/2009 | By Mary Finkelsen - Eagles Angels Manager |
She did the Rhumba, a slow waltz that bored Todd, the FoxTrot and then on last Sunday's Dancing with the Stars programme she and her partner Dannial danced the Aussie Smooth. By week five Layne was relaxed and wonderful. She gleamed and received such high praise but amazingly she was eliminated.
I guess that is the risk you run when the public are involved...some of the dancers get higher votes for sympathy or cuteness (I had to stop my daughter voting for Lincoln!). So I guess that is what you are up against. But Layne did us and herself proud ending on a high note and being part of the wonderful recreation of the on-line hit 'JK's Wedding Dance'.
(Did everyone notice who caught the flowers at the end....Kirk did you notice?????)
Now I'm sure you are all thinking when you read this...what is the 'Aussie Smooth'? I had never heard of it so I decide to 'Google it!'. The Aussie Smooth is a dance that is 'based on various sub-genres of dance including Dance Sport Viennese Waltz, Australian New Vogue and International Smooth.' Now this begs the question what is 'Australian New Vogue' and 'International Smooth'? I'm not going there!
So now we should all swap our alligance to Matt White who is an other huge Sea Eagles fan. Call 191777 and sms 'matt'.
It's also worth noting that all of Layne's proceeds from all her votes went towards the foundation ‘Aim for the Stars’ which provides much needed grants for young women of Australia to achieve their dreams and goals in their chosen career, sport or interest.
Congratulations Layne!
