Week 3 of Dancing with the Stars

Week 3 of Dancing with the Stars and my feet are really starting to hurt now!

From a slow waltz that bored Todd, to a sexy slow rumba that frustrated me to tears, Dannial and I were surprised to be given yet another slow ballroom dance in the form of the Fox Trot.

The history of the Fox Trot dates back to the summer of 1914.

Actor Harry Fox was appearing in shows in New York with Yansci Dolly, in an act of Hammerstein's. People at the "Jardin de Danse" on the roof of the New York Theatre, soon started to copy the act that Harry was putting on downstairs, leading them to refer to the dance as "Fox's Trot".

The foxtrot is a very smooth dance and there should be no jerkiness. It is a dance
with many continuously forward or backward moving patterns which are straight and well aligned. It is called the Rolls Royce of the standard dancing styles because the smoothness that is required. The timing is very important it should be- slow, quick, quick, slow. This makes it a very difficult dance.

Once again I was quite nervous but determined to remain as relaxed and confident as possible. It's actually a really fun dance and I new the steps so It was just a matter of channelling my inner Diva and staying in the character throughout the whole 90 seconds we were on the dance floor. Of course I forgot a couple of steps which I unnecessarily drew to the judge’s attention but all in all I was satisfied with how we danced. I'm too honest!

I was determined to make it through another elimination round because this coming weekend we have the Salsa which is our first fast dance of the series. Bring it on! Plus with the wicked twist of having to perform a 15 second solo, this week is going to be a very challenging one. But how many world champions don't love a challenge?
